Good job, Jazzy - would still like to see some variation in your lines (they are all the same width. Your images will be much more exciting if you use some variation). When shading be sure to know where the light source is coming from and shade according to that. As an example of this use the guy's arm - see his hand, shoulder, pants - are all lit as though the light were coming from the upper right of the image, but his arm (the black part), face and hair are being lit from different directions. One thing i do is to put an 'x' wher i think the light is originating and use it as a giude to do my shading. Then when i'm finished, i simply erase the 'x'
Set the brush thickness/width, in Photoshop, by clicking 'shape dynamics' on the Brush menu. Then in the drop down box that says 'control', set it to 'ressure'. Now you'll notice that the harder you press the wider the line will become. When doing line work, it's probably best to use a basic hard round brush, so that the edges remain sharp as opposed to fuzzy. Make sense?
If you have any other questions, Jazzzy, just message me or whatever.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Yeah I always had a problem with shading..I'll use the 'x' next time.
How do I set my PS brush to the different thickness levels?
